I found this on YouTube and thought it might have some interest. Odetta was a powerful performer, certainly active as DM came up the ranks. She remained a
stroong family friend of the Seegers, and was slated to perform at Barak Obama's inaugeral on Jan 20th. This is a baeutiful song and the music video seems
to have been produced on film. A nice legacy for Odetta, I think.�

Hi Greg, I was a fan of Odetta's too and really enjoyed listening to her on Woodsongs. You can still find her on the Woodsongs archive . She had an international reputation and she was booked to perform at Celtic Connection's Auld Lang Syne tribute to Robert Burns in Glasgow on 25th January 2009. This is part of the celebration of Robert Burns 250th birthday, she will be greatly missed. |
